From packaging, wrapping and food scraps to marketing material and serving containers, in the restaurant industry unfortunately much of what is paid for and delivered to a venue is discarded, ending up in landfill and of no value to anyone. By preventing and eliminating the waste going to landfill, Otarian® seeks to minimise the costs of production and disposal, whilst also reducing the environmental impacts. We work with our suppliers to eliminate costly and unnecessary packaging, and educate our staff and customers on avoiding wastefulness and correctly disposing of all types of rubbish.

We understand that in the initial phases of devising the optimum waste control policy, significant costs are incurred in sourcing environmentally acceptable packaging and establishing recycling and composting waste streams. However, in the longer term, the benefits and savings will be widely realised.
